Liverpool fans will be glad to hear this.

The Injury Gods have not been kind to Liverpool this season. The prolonged or perpetual absence of key stars like Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Alisson and Joel Matip was compounded by the long term injury to Virgil Van Dijk.

Let’s not forget that stars like Tsimikas and Oxlade Chamberlain have spent almost the entirety of the season on the side-lines too.

It has been the stuff of nightmares for Jurgen Klopp but one the German probably expected considering the heavy fixture congestion this season with back to back Champions League clashes and the Premier League to contend with.

Fortunately the arrival of players like Diogo Jota has helped to soften the blow for now. The Portuguese has been a real bright spark for the Reds this season and already looks like a bargain signing.

Thiago Alcantara on the other hand has been unable to make much influence on the pitch through no fault of his own. When he has played the Spanish international has brought his customary class however Thiago has been forced to spend much of his early career away from the pitch. First Thiago Alcantara had to go into isolation after contracting Covid and now he’s been forced to sit idle due an injury he picked up in the clash with Everton.

Fortunately, Thiago Alcantara could be available for Klopp soon. Prior to the club’s Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland, he was spotted doing some light training on his own via the Standard.

That will be a huge boost to Jurgen Klopp and while perhaps the Champions League tie tonight might be too soon for Thiago Alcantara’s return, the Spanish international could be in line to face West Ham at the weekend.

Thiago is undoubtedly one of the best options Klopp has at his disposal in midfield and keeping him fit could be crucial in the club’s success this season.

Thiago Alcantara’s quality was exemplified in the Champions League final last season where the Spanish international dictated the game and controlled PSG’s midfield.

The Reds will be hoping Thiago Alcantara will be able to guide them to the final of the competition once again too.
