Jurgen Klopp’s feat is unprecedented at Liverpool.

Think of any manager in the world. Any manager who would stay so nonchalant amidst one of the biggest injury crisis unfurling right in front of his eyes. Think of any team in world-football who would not struggle without five or six of its first choice starting eleven. Any team.

You would struggle to find a few in history let alone in the current moment.

Except for Jurgen Klopp’s mentality monsters.

Liverpool proved why they were the champions against Leicester City on Sunday night.

Granted Leicester were hardly the in-form and explosive force that was expected of Brendan Rodgers’ side, but that was largely down to the character of the Reds’ performance.

From the moment Chris Kavanagh blew his whistle Liverpool stifled Leicester. Fabinho’s bullish performance at the heart of defence was enough to not even give a smidge of a sight at goal for Jamie Vardy.

Meanwhile the midfield three, with Curtis Jones at helm, dictated the play. Diogo Jota often dropped behind to help out, showing the Reds were not missing a certain Egyptian talisman.

James Milner was terrific. The former England international has played mostly a sporadic role this season, but he proved that Klopp can still count on his veteran experience when needed.

Even Roberto Firmino, the supposedly out of form forward, danced around Leicester’s ‘impenetrable defence’ and gave an icy welcome to Anfield for the previously outstanding Wesley Fofana.

The vehement opposition supporters who had no faith and were predicting a Leicester riot, forgot this was Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Perhaps the absurd 7-2 Aston Villa has tainted perceptions, but this is still a Reds side which is performing extremely well on both fronts this season.

Despite all the challenges and obstacles, Jurgen Klopp’s team have proved they can endure.

The impossible is now possible for the Reds.

For most teams being without the leading figures both on the pitch and in the dressing room would put a dent in their title hopes, but Klopp’s men have kept it alive. They’ve proved their mettle.

With players set to return, and the possibility of five substitutions growing ever more likely, the Reds have kept themselves in contention for the title.

In Chelsea and Tottenham, Klopp will encounter two formidable forces in his quest to retain the trophy. However, the club’s result against Leicester City proves, Klopp and his team must never be underestimated.

Liverpool have high hopes the Reds' missing star will return. dark. Next
