The Liverpool boss might not be happy.

There were ominous portents circling social media last night. Whispers and rumours of yet another potential Liverpool injury.

It has been a nightmare, season for the Reds’ boss, Jurgen Klopp. The German coach must be pulling every strand of his remaining hair out.

The club’s players are dropping out like flies. And with crucial games both in the Premier League and the Champions League, the last thing Jurgen Klopp would want is another injury.

Sadly if rumours and speculations are to be believed there might be yet another name added to his list.

And it is a name the Reds’ supporter least want to get injured.

In a report by Empire of the Kop, the site claims that Alisson Becker was not sighted in the Reds’ training session at Kirkby ahead of their Champions League clash with Ajax tonight.

That has ignited rife speculation about a potential injury to the Brazilian goalkeeper.

With Alisson Becker one of the spines of the team his absence could be costly for the Reds.

His deputy, Adrian has not immersed himself in much glory since his arrival at Anfield.

He has often been the scapegoat to some of the Reds’ recent defeats and has made several blunders.

Thus Alisson Becker being side-lined ahead of a game of such huge magnitude for the Reds will understandably incite panic and fear amongst the club’s supporters.

The only positive news is that Alisson’s potential absence is yet to be confirmed by an official or close source to the club. So the rumours might simply be just that and nothing else.

There is no need to right the panic bells just yet.

The Reds will hope Alisson Becker will feature tonight. His calm presence at the back could be the key to stifle an in-form Ajax attack.

The Reds certainly do not want to go into the fixture with just one of their first choice back five available.

However if the rumours are true, surely signing an adept back-up goalkeeper should be the number one priority for the Reds in January?
