This could explain the Liverpool star’s absence.

In the Liverpool dressing room, he stood with a wide green in the club’s news colours.

How are we?

Three words and a question. That’s all it took to send the club’s supporters into a frenzy.

Thiago Alcantara‘s arrival was greeted like no other in the club’s history. Perhaps not since Fernando Torres have the Reds signed such proven quality.

The Spaniard who was instrumental in the Champions League final for Bayern Munich was supposed to herald a new era of dominance upon his arrival.

While Thiago has shown glimpses of his brilliance in the rare occasions he has been on the pitch, his first few months at Anfield have been frustrating to say the least.

The Reds’ midfielder has been forced to sit idle on the side-lines after a horrific challenge on him by Everton’s Richarlison.

It has not been the ideal situation for Jurgen Klopp. Especially with many of his other midfielders also ruled out with injuries.

While initially, Klopp only ruled out the Spanish international for a few weeks that has stretched onto six and with a further two or even more expected.

Thiago Alcantara is unlikely to see action until the start of the new year. To many supporters the Spaniard’s absence has been a mystery and one that is hard to fathom. Especially since they are so eager to see their new fan favourite strut his stuff on the pitch and prove just exactly why the club were so eager to land him.

In an extremely insightful piece by Dr Rajpal Brar for This is Anfield, Brar has draw light to what could be the underlying cause behind Thiago’s prolonged absence.

According to Brar, Thiago may suffering from one of four causes. His ligament injury severity turning worse than expected, the pain of dysfunction lasting longer the club have anticipated, a nerve disfunction or what Brar deems ‘most likely’ a bone bruise.

Thankfully for the Reds, Brar reiterates that Thiago has ‘valid’ reasons to be missing from action and that he is in ‘good hands.’

The only thing left for the supporters now is to remain patient. There is no doubt Thiago will come back firing sooner rather than later and when he does, the Reds will become a formidable force.

Can Thiago help Liverpool win the Premier League?
