Liverpool lineup vs Midtjylland: Takumi Minamino gets his chance in attack
Liverpool play Midtjylland and this is how the forwards will line up.
It’s likely that we’ll see heavy rotation by Jurgen Klopp for this game, and given that Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah started against Wolves, it’s unlikely we’ll see them in the XI.
But that’s okay, because the Reds are well stocked in their forward line – even with Harry Wilson out on loan and Xherdan Shaqiri injured.
This is how we think Liverpool will line their forwards up against the Danes on Wednesday night.
Inside-left: Divock Origi
The Belgian hasn’t had the best of times this season, but then again his chances to impress have been rarer than hen’s teeth. It’s unlikely that Origi will be overjoyed at being asked to start as Mane’s replacement, but he has done it before and done it well.
We’ll need to see movement, guile and pace from the Belgian – who could be in last chance saloon with Klopp. He’ll be on the field with the knowledge that Klopp has some serious firepower to bring on in his place if it doesn’t go well; Mane is never one to miss an opportunity.
Centre-forward: Takumi Minamino

Taki is another one who has been waiting for his chance all season but was curiously played as a midfielder against Brighton.
He was signed as a forward and has offered glimmers of quality in the same position that Roberto Firmino normally occupies, so this is where he should be picked for this game.
While Diogo Jota offered a more predatory instinct when he plays through the middle, Minamino can lead the press and drop deep to offer a more creative option. In many ways, he’s the most Firmino-like of all the potential replacements.
He should be able to find some joy against Midtjylland as well, who have lost four of their five Champions League games.
