Could this defender be on his way to Liverpool?

Jurgen Klopp and his men have withstood some insurmountable challenges in the past. But perhaps the current injury crisis embroiling the club is the biggest task for Liverpool yet.

Without the Reds’ first choice centre-back, the club has struggled to keep attacks at bay and stifle even relatively average offensive players.

That is despite both Fabinho and Joel Matip performing amicably at the back for the club this season.

But the Reds’ fairy tale period of continuing to win games will not last forever.

And Klopp is only an injury away from being forced into playing academy players at the heart of the club’s defence yet again.

So with January teetering ever closer, there is understandably numerous speculations about whether or not the Reds will embark on yet another transfer saga next month.

One of the players who has been linked with a move is RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate.

The tall French centre-back has been a stalwart presence at the back for the German side and has stood out in the Champions League both this season and last season.

Agile and comfortable on the ball with an abundance of pace and the aerial ability to match it, Ibrahima Konate seems like the perfect fit for the club.

At 21 years of age he will only improve as well with time.

And after yet another stunning performance against Manchester United to knock the club’s rivals out of the Champions League, Ibrahima Konate seemed to have left a strong statement and potentially a hint about his future on Twitter.

Ibrahima Konate shared the following Tweet on his account.

The subtle comment is sure to ignite the flames about Ibrahima Konate’s future. Especially with the players referenced in the original tweet being two Liverpool fan favourites in Salah and Mane. And of course that he shared the tweet of an LFC account.

Of course one will have to take it with a pinch of salt. However it’s clear Ibrahima Konate would fit in well at Anfield. He has already won the fans over with his performances and he has tormented the club’s arch rivals which means he’d come with the almost perfect resume.
