Liverpool could land a big player.

As the negotiations between Liverpool and Georginio Wijnaldum continue to drag on, the likelihood of a positive resolution for the club becomes more and more unlikely. Even in the unprecedented scenario that Georginio Wijnaldum stays at Anfield, Klopp may still look to bolster his midfield.

Henderson, Keita and Thiago have all struggled with injuries and staying fit during their careers at the club, and with James Milner getting deep into his mid-thirties and unlikely to continue playing for a long time, the Reds could do with a reinforcement.

In Renato Sanches, Klopp might have just found his man to recruit in January.

According to Le10Sport via 90Min the Reds are interested in bringing the Portuguese international to the club.

The 23 year old is a combative midfielder with exuberant energy and stupendous technique.

While he broke out all the way back in 2016, his career has taken some unexpected set-backs. After a stellar campaign with Benfica and incredible performances at the Euros, Sanches earnt himself to Bayern Munich.

However Renato Sanches was never able to fight himself into the reckoning with the Bavarians. Instead he moved to Swansea City in search of more time on the pitch.

However he endured a frustrating debut season in the Premier League and many have written him off ever since.

However at Lille, Renato Sanches has slowly rebuilt his reputation and is now once again regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe.

His French club Lille are currently in a bit of financial trouble as well and according to L’Equipe, the French side will be looking to sell the Portuguese midfielder in January. They are so desperate in fact they could allow Renato Sanches to depart for a relatively cheap sum.

Sanches’ previous experience at Swansea will be a concern to some. However, one must point out Gnabry’s time with West Brom or Salah’s at Chelsea as proof that class is permanent, form is temporary.

At his best Renato Sanches would be a terrific signing for the Reds. His energy and technical ability would suit the club impeccably and his pace and physicality could also come in handy.

Do you think Renato Sanches would be a good signing?
