Liverpool want this Guardiola favourite.
There have been some bold claims in the past. And some bold transfers made by Liverpool. Think of Oxlade-Chamberlain moving to Anfield or Thiago this summer. However, perhaps the club’s bravest transfer endeavour could be prizing away Manchester City and Pep Guardiola’s greatest defensive prospect.
The rivalry between the Reds and Manchester City is fierce. The two have competed for the Premier League title on several occasions and Guardiola may pose Klopp the biggest threat this time around too.
However, as the January window approaches, it seems like the two clubs will not only clash on the pitch but in the boardroom as well.

The Reds’ defensive crisis has been well documented.
With often three senior centre-backs ruled out, Klopp has been forced to feature academy players at the heart of the club’s defence.
In January the German will be hoping to remedy that.
And they could remedy it by making a move for Manchester City’s Eric Garcia.
The 19 year old Spanish centre-back was lured to England by City from Barcelona’s renowned academy.
And Garcia seems to be highly regarded by Guardiola. The young centre-back made his Premier League debut as a mere 17 year old and has featured for the club in pivotal games both in the league and the Champions League.
Despite this, Eric Garcia is seemingly keen to depart the club.
And according to Sport via ESPN the Reds are hoping to be one of Eric Garcia’s suitors in the January window.
Though a move is unlikely according to the report with Eric Garcia favouring a return to Barcelona instead.
Nonetheless in an unlikely event a potential deal could be priceless for the Reds.
Not only would it torment their direct rivals but it could also give them a psychological advantage over Guardiola.
Of course City are likely to demand a steep figure for Eric Garcia so Jurgen Klopp will probably look for cheaper alternatives. And in all fairness while Eric Garcia is highly rated by Guardiola, the 19 year old is yet to really catch the eye.
What do you make of a potential move for Eric Garcia?
