According to credible journalist Julien Laurens writing for ESPN, one of the players the Reds are looking to sign as replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum is Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.
Just like Wijnaldum, Bissouma is currently playing for a relegation fodder team. However the Malian midfielder has impressed with his effective pressing and sturdy tackling.
A technically blessed midfielder, Yves Bissouma has the traits to do well under Jurgen Klopp and he could prove to be a smart addition for the Reds. Especially if they are able to get him on the cheap.
But Klopp will have to fight off some fierce competition with Man United also interested in the midfielder.
The ESPN report claims offers could come in for Yves Bissouma as early as this January. So watch this space.
One thing for sure, Yves Bissouma could work well at Liverpool, especially since the midfielder is already settled in the Premier League and suits the club’s system.
The Reds are always smart with their purchases and this could be another one of those excellent additions. Like the arrival of Wijnaldum or Robertson.
Of course Yves Bissouma will have big boots to fill at Anfield. Wijnaldum should go down as a legend at the club.
However, the 24 year old Malian will certainly be determined to fulfil expectations.
Do you think Yves Bissouma would be a good signing for the club in the January transfer window?
