Liverpool know who they want to replace Salah.

Mohamed Salah has been a legend at Liverpool. There is no disputing the Egyptian’s greatness. Salah is at the peak of his powers at the moment and his goal scoring prowess has made him a formidable figure. One who is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world right now.

But in recent weeks tensions have arisen between the Egyptian and the club.

According to Salah’s former international teammate speaking to beIN Sport via the Daily Mirror, Salah feels ‘unhappy’ about the way he has been treated by the club after not being handed the captain armband in a game against Midtjylland in the Champions League.

The report goes onto claim that the Reds could be looking to sell the Egyptian forward in the near future.

Salah recently opened up about his admiration for Real Madrid and Barcelona and if the Reds are to cash in it could ignite a massive snowball effect.

For example let’s say Lionel Messi goes to Manchester City, Barcelona replace Messi with Salah and then Liverpool must look to find their replacement.

But who would that be?

According to the Daily Mirror the Reds are interested in Kylian Mbappe.

The French forward has been heavily linked with the club for some time. The Reds even tried to bring him to the academy when he was still at Monaco.

Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a huge admirer and Kylian Mbappe has also spoken of his admiration of the club.

It would be the perfect deal for the club and the smart investment Michael Edwards is renowned for. Salah will be entering his 29th birthday next year. Which means he will only really have a few years left at the top.

Meanwhile at 22 Kylian Mbappe has his entire future ahead of him and he is already on par with Mohamed Salah.

Of course Mbappe would need to adapt to the Premier League. However, under Jurgen Klopp that should not be a problem.

A quarter of Jota, Mbappe, Mane and Firmino would still be an incredible front line.

Of course it would be devastating to see Mohamed Salah leave. The Egyptian was the King of the Kop. He will be forever adored by the Reds. However, such is the nature of football and the cruel reality of time.
