With the recent introduction of the new training facilities the club’s youngsters will have even more chance to showcase their ability.
And it seems there will be a new addition.
Birmingham City’s Calum Scanlon has confirmed his arrival at Anfield on Instagram via the Daily Mirror.
The youngster is only 15 years of age and is believed to be the next best thing to have come out of Birmingham City’s academy after Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.
Calum Scanlon is capable of playing as a left-back and as a left midfielder as well which makes him a versatile asset to the German.
Of course it will likely be a while until Scanlon comes anywhere near the first team, (though of course with the Reds injury luck this season, you never know!) however it will be exciting to see how the youngster develops at the club.
The Reds have a few exciting players in the academy at the moment, with Musialkowski, Layton Stewart and James Balagizi catching the eye for the club’s U18 this season. Calum Scanlon coming into such an impressive team is an enthralling prospect.
One thing for sure is that the Reds mean business in the winter transfer window and with already one transfer wrapped up there could be more on the way very soon in terms of more arrivals into the academy and hopefully the first team too.
For Calum Scanlon being part of team where youth talent is admired and nurtured with careful attention to detail will provide him with the perfect environment to hone his skills.
This might not the last time Reds supporters will hear of the youngster.
Who should Liverpool sign in January?
