Liverpool’s latest transfer update on American born talent Folarin Balogun
By Bence Bocsak
Liverpool are looking to land this Arsenal striker.
Liverpool are no stranger on pouncing on their rival’s discarded talent. Rhian Brewster was snapped up from Chelsea. As was Dominic Solanke and Daniel Sturridge. Meanwhile, the Reds also lured Ovie Ejaria and Elijah Dixon-Bonner from Arsenal and Klopp could make another academy signing from the Gunners.
Folarin Balogun is regarded as the North London based club’s best prospects and he showcased his ability with some impressive performances in the Europa League this season.
However, Folarin Balogun’s current contract with the club is set to expire in the summer and negotiations to extend his deal have not come to a resolution.

The Reds are looking to pounce and exploit Folarin Balogun’s situation, just like they have done with the likes of Dominic Solanke and Rhian Brewster in the past.
Balogun who was born in the United States in New York is eligible to play for both the USA and England. He has represented both nations at youth level and is yet to declare his nationality.
A rapid forward with a wide array of skills, Balogun has the energy and the stamina to seamlessly fit into Jurgen Klopp’s geggen-pressing system.
Of course he will be wary of making the move to Anfield because of the failure of other English forwards who have made the same move from London to Merseyside.
And the Reds have been handed a new update in their pursuit.
According to German outlet Kicker via LFC Transfer Room, Stuttgart have also entered the race for Folarin Balogun and hope to beat Liverpool to his signature.
Stuttgart are a team whose recent foundations have been built on youth talent. And with a plethora of young Englishman having enjoyed success in Germany and the Bundesliga, Folarin Balogun may look to follow suit rather than opt for the move to Anfield where playing opportunities would be limited.
Of course time will tell what Balogun’s ultimate decision will be. If the Reds succeed in their pursuit, it will be a nice boost for the club’s future, if not, then it will not be the end of the world either.
One thing for sure it’s worth keeping an eye on Folarin Balogun. Especially this January.
Would you be happy if Liverpool signed Folarin Balogun?
