Liverpool player ratings – forwards

Right Wing: Mo Salah – 4/10

The Egyptian was really off it tonight.

Not only did he miss two clear-cut chances – one wonderfully saved by Darlow, the other inexplicably shanked wide – but he created the most frustration when he gave away several needless fouls towards the end of the game as Liverpool hunted a goal.

He should’ve either been substituted earlier or left on until the end, as it just wasn’t good enough.

More from Rush The Kop

Centre-forward: Roberto Firmino – 6/10

The best of the front three, he was once again superb in linking play ahead of the low block, but not effective enough.

It was he who set through Salah with an excellent through ball in the second half, as he did on multiple occasions to no avail with Mane and Robertson – but it wasn’t to be.

His header was well saved by Darlow towards the end of the first half.

Left Wing: Sadio Mane – 5/10

A really poor one from Mane, which is not something we’re used to saying.

Despite the incredible amount of fouls he was getting given and not given throughout the match, he failed to get any real chances for himself in the entire match.

After a lengthy goal drought he scored against West Bromwich Albion last time out – let’s hope he’s not going to go on another after tonight.
