One of the areas where Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have struggled this season has been at the middle of the park. Despite all the talk about the club’s lack of options at centre-back, it’s the midfield who have felt the biggest impact from the back.
Klopp’s Liverpool have never been a particularly creative team. Ever since the departure of Philippe Coutinho, the Reds have not had that traditional number ten who weaved through his opponents and had the knack for defence splitting passes.
In fact in the brief period when the Reds front four played together, Klopp probably played his most exciting football.

With the absence of Virgil Van Dijk, there is the need again for that all-out attacking style of play.
Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are looking for their next Philippe Coutinho.
And while Coutinho might vie for a return back to Anfield, unless Barcelona are drawn with the Reds in the Champions League yet again, it is unlikely to happen for the Brazilian.
One of the best creative players of Coutinho’s ilk has been Jack Grealish in the Premier League.
But the midfielder is far too pricey in today’s market and the Reds would likely be deterred from making a move for the Aston Villa captain.
However further down the English ladder in the Championship, there is a midfielder who is being touted as the second coming of Grealish.
That midfielder is Michael Olise.
With 8 assists and 4 goals the 19 year old has been one of the best players in the English second division this season.
He plays with the same guile and poise as Grealish. Michael Olise loves to run through thickets of defenders and he has the end-product needed to be successful at the highest levels.
And according to Football Insider Michael Olise is on the radar of Liverpool. In fact the Reading midfielder could be available for as cheap as £8 million.
That would be an absolute bargain in today’s market.
Especially for a talent of Michael Olise’s ilk.
First Time Finish wrote an extensive report on the Reds’ target, interviewing Michael Olise’s academy coach about his former protege. In that report, Sean Conlon revealed that ‘From the age of nine, Michael has been the best player for his age in the country.’
A huge praise and one that will surely alert the Reds.
Michael Olise could be a no brainer signing. One reminiscent of the Reds January move for Takumi Minamino last winter. But this one could bear even more fruits.
