In the past decade or so Liverpool have seen an influx of Brazilian stars grace their Premier League squads. From the perpetually reliable Lucas Leiva, to the brilliance of Fabio Aurelio and the flair and excitement of Firmino, or Coutinho as well as the world-class thinking of Alisson and Fabinho.

The aforementioned Brazilians have become cult heroes at Anfield. Fans adore them and their time in the red shirt will always be remembered with fond memories.

As a result the Reds’ stock has undoubtedly rise on the South American continent too.

More from Rush The Kop

Last night, the continent’s biggest competition was concluded in the Copa Libertadores. The equivalent of the Champions League in Europe it was contested by two Brazilian sides Palmeiras and Santos.

Liverpool and Klopp have an admirer.

It was the Green of Palmeiras who conquered and one of their star players Gabriel Menino seems like he might be eyeing a move to Anfield in the future.

Speaking to Abolapt via Sport Witness, the Brazilian right back said he style of play would suit Liverpool, when asked where he sees himself playing in the future.

Of course with the brilliant Trent Alexander-Arnold playing in Gabriel Menino’s position it is hard to see how Menino would fight himself into the starting eleven.

Nonetheless, Menino is capable of playing in midfield too as a central defensive midfielder and he has been one of the bright stars of the Brazilian Serie A this season.

The accomplished 20 year old has already been called-up to Brazil’s senior squad which proves just how highly rated he is.

With the new rules and regulations, signing Brazilian players has become somewhat easier for Premier League clubs and Liverpool could potentially facilitated a move for the versatile Menino.

The fact that he can play in more than two roles is certainly something Jurgen Klopp will admire.

Of course there is also the possibility of Trent moving into the midfield in the future and in which case the Reds would need to find a right-back.

Maybe Menino will be that option?

Only time will tell. One thing for sure the Brazilian has a very bright future in the sport.
