Liverpool lineup vs Brighton: Klopp to use 4-3-1-2
Liverpool will be keen on registering their third Premier League win in a row as they host Brighton on Wednesday.
The two sides last met a few months back and it seemed that Jurgen Klopp’s side would win. However, a controversial penalty during the dying minutes saw Pascal Gross cancel out Diogo Jota’s opening goal.
Graham Potter’s side will be in high spirits following their 1-0 win over Tottenham a few days back and they have been unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions, albeit the opposition in most games being far from tough to beat.
The Seagulls put in a decent performance against Liverpool at home and while the Reds are the favorites, they certainly shouldn’t be written off. If Brighton defy the odds and win, it will be their first win at Anfield since 1983.
Liverpool lineup vs Brighton
Now, let’s take a look as to how Klopp could line his team up against their 17th-placed opponents this week.
Alisson
The Brazilian shot-stopper hasn’t kept a clean sheet in Liverpool’s previous three games with his last coming a few weeks back against Man United at Anfield. Alisson didn’t have much to do against West Ham but when needed, was there to make useful interventions. However, he was unable to stop Craig Dawson from pulling one back for West Ham.

Against Spurs, there was little he could do to prevent Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s screamer from finding the net.
Alisson will undoubtedly be in goal against Brighton and will be eager to put in a solid display. In the last meeting between the two teams at Anfield, the 28-year-old received his only red card till date for handling the ball outside the penalty area.
The possibility of another sending off is extremely low but Alisson will have to be alert whenever needed. If there is any chance of Liverpool winning the league, they’ll have to avoid any mistakes and the same applies to their custodian.
Alisson’s chances of winning the Golden Glove are pretty much none but he’ll be needed to keep clean sheets in order to enhance his team’s goal difference as it might be decisive later.
The Brighton attackers are bound to have a hard time getting the better of him.
