Many fans want ‘biscuit legs’ nowhere near the team
Many Liverpool fans want a player described as having ‘biscuit legs’ nowhere near the Premier League team.
Despite the three centre-back injuries, the Reds’ massive injury list is starting to clear up. We all know about Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk, so I won’t waste any more words on them.
Elsewhere, Jurgen Klopp is just waiting on Diogo Jota and Naby Keita to return to the first-team squad and complete his first-team options.
Liverpool can’t rely on Naby Keita
Keita’s ability is clear for all to see and Liverpool didn’t spend £54 million on the Guniea international for nothing. 17 goals and 15 assists from 71 games made him one of the most highly-rated midfielders in Europe when Keita was playing for RB Leipzig. 20 goals and 11 assists in 80 games at Salzburg were equally excellent.
It might not seem like it, but Keita has already made 71 appearances for Liverpool – although his goal involvements are seriously down. That could be due to repeated, niggly injuries.
After starting the first four Premier League games of the season, Keita has made just three more appearances in 18 weeks.

COVID-19, quarantine, and an ankle injury have hampered his season. But still, the thought of getting Keita back has tantalized some Liverpool fans but horrified others.
A midfield three of Fabinho, Thiago and Keita was touted as one for the future. On paper, that could be title-winning, but titles aren’t won on paper and Keita looks like the type of player who might pick up an injury from a papercut.
Biscuit legs was a barb aimed at the Guniea international, and you’d struggle to argue with that assessment. Since Keita arrived, we’ve been waiting for that period where he gets over his injury problems, played regularly, and shines.
Fans are losing patience with Keita, who continues to get hopes up and them dashing them with a cruel dose of realism. If this continues, nobody will be surprised if he’s sold in the summer.
The only problem with that is the only regular form we’ve seen from Keita is his ability to find his way back to the treatment table. Since arriving, the midfielder has suffered from 12 separate injuries and missed a total of 47 games, according to Transfermarkt.
Biscuit legs? You might be right.
