There are very few players in world football who seem otherworldly. Simply too good to be fallible human beings. There is a mystical element to them. They are put on higher pedestals. Expected to perform week after week. And usually they do. Mohamed Salah certainly falls into that category. The Liverpool forward is an outstanding talent. One the Reds are blessed to have in their ranks.

For four consecutive seasons the Egyptian has dominated the Premier League. At times he has been unstoppable.

One of Mohamed Salah’s most potent features if his wand of a left foot. Liverpool’s number ten has the ability to find the back of the net with potent deft finishes from anywhere on the pitch.

Some call him selfish, but the truth is that Mohamed Salah is ruthless.

Mohamed Salah has been the king of Liverpool.

Yet as the Egyptian star is set to turn 29 in the summer, some will be concerned just how long Salah will be able to continue his excellent form for. At some point his fallibility will show. Even at times this season there have been signs that Salah is not just a machine.

Football is a ruthless and cut-throat business. The Reds have been astute and often unforgiving when making their transfer deals under Jurgen Klopp. Think of how Loris Karius was ousted from the team after the Champions League final.

And no doubt Michael Edwards and the Liverpool board will be taking Salah’s age into consideration.

Especially as Sadio Mane will also turn 29, meanwhile Roberto Firmino will be 30 this year.

Diogo Jota has come in to put pressure on the front three, but Edwards might even look to cash in on the Reds high flying stars in order to raise funds for a younger alternative who could secure the future of Liverpool.

Though that younger alternative could already be at the club and the Reds signed him in the January transfer window.

Speaking on the Blood Red Podcast via the Liverpool Echo Derby expert Jack Hasler declared that the Reds’ new arrival Kaide Gordon has a ‘similar’ shooting technique to Mohamed Salah.

With the youngster capable of playing through the middle or on the wing, those will be music to the Reds supporters’ ears. Kaide Gordon might not be an arrival Reds fans will see much of in the next few years, but if the club develops him in the right way, he could potentially be a long term replacement for the Reds Egyptian King.
