The Brazilian has brought Liverpool fans indelible memories. Roberto Firmino will forever be remembered as as legend at Anfield. One with genius first touch. Effortless vision and ability and the selflessness to create space for his teammates to conjure up chances for others.

His brilliance has been clear for all to see.

However, over the last year or so the Brazilian has no longer been as silky or effortless. Firmino has fallen off the pace. Whether its due to the ravages of ageing or exhaustion from playing so many games in the past three or four years it is clear the Reds can no longer solely rely on their number nine alone.

In the summer they will need to add a new striker to their ranks. One with who will help revive the Reds attacking prowess.

Someone who is both prolific. Can still offer the same pressing ability as Roberto Firmino but can also offer a more direct threat to the opponent’s goal.

Liverpool need a change.

The perfect candidate for the role would be Patson Daka who is a self-confessed Liverpool supporter and according to his coach speaking to First Time Finish it ‘was a dream come true’ for the Zambian international to score a brace against the Reds in pre-season between Salzburg and Liverpool.

Salzburg’s graduates include the likes of Erling Haaland, Naby Keita and Sadio Mane which are good omens for Patson Daka.

This season he has made 30 goal contributions in just 25 games highlighting his incredible prolific nature.

On top of that he is part of a Salzburg team who like to press the ball much like Jurgen Klopp.

Daka has aerial threat too and can score from crosses which could make him potent with Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson supplying balls into the box.

The 22 year old is a huge talent and a clear jewel.

He offers something Roberto Firmino doesn’t but at the same time he can also offer everything the Brazilian can including the link-up play and the silky skills.

Patson Daka is still young too meaning he has even more time to improve. 22 was the same age both Salah and Mane made the move to the Premier League and Daka could be about to do the same.

Anfield would be the perfect destination and a dream come true.

Next. Liverpool could alter their tactics this way to get top four. dark
