Sadio Mane has been the under-appreciated jewel in Liverpool’s front three for many years now. The left winger has been marauding up and down the left-flank interchanging with his beloved Andrew Robertson for many years now.

He is one of the main reasons why the Reds were able to qualify for the Champions League in the first place.

He’s scored in Champions League finals. Participated in final moments and at times carried the team on his shoulders. But with the brilliance of Salah and the flamboyant skills of Firmino, Mane often gets forgotten.

For those who remember him well though, Mane’s performances have not gone under the radar.

Liverpool could get the new Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese winger first made his mark in Salzburg. Where he attracted the attention of Jurgen Klopp whilst he was still manager of Borussia Dortmund.

There were plenty of reasons why. Mane tore the Austrian Bundesliga apart. He was the king of Salzburg.

In the years that have gone by Salzburg have had many kings since. But none have ever compared to Sadio Mane until now.

Since the departure of Erling Haaland, Salzburg have been blessed with a new super star in Patson Daka.

The Zambian international has enjoyed an eerily similar goal-scoring record as his former predecessor.

They share similarity in playing styles too.

Both are explosive and rampant on the ball. They like to be direct and they are blessed with an abundance of energy. Enough to contribute both in defence and attack.

It is why the Reds should make Patson Daka their next target in the summer. The Zambian is perfectly suited to the club’s style of play and Klopp is in desperate need of a clinical number nine which is exactly what Daka would offer.

On top of that, according to a profile done on him with First Time Finish who interviewed the people closest to Patson Daka, the Zambian is a boyhood supporter of the club and his dreams ‘came true’ when he played at Anfield in the Champions League as well as in the pre-season fixture in Salzburg where he netted a brace against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

It would be the perfect move.

Next. Liverpool want the next Coutinho. dark
