Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have run into one dire and glaring problem this season. They simply cannot put the ball into the back of the net. As the goal’s have dried up the inquiry into the Reds issues have come up with one very simple and obvious verdict: Liverpool need to buy a striker.

In the summer, the club will be on a relentless pursuit to find the right candidate. Someone who has the pace and the work-rate to fit seamlessly into Klopp’s system but at the same time, it has to be a player who offers something more than Roberto Firmino.

A striker with a knack for being in the right place at the right time and putting the ball into the back of the net.

There have already been an abundance of suggestions.

Liverpool need to make a change.

But perhaps the Reds should and will look beyond the obvious options. Especially considering the current financial climate. Edwards might have to work his magic and test his scouting knowledge.

If that is the case, the Reds should consider Egyptian forward Mostafa Mohamed. The 23 year old striker has been dubbed the ‘next Mohamed Salah’ back in Egypt and is a huge fan favourite due to his tenacious style and knack for scoring goals.

At international level he has already formed a formidable partnership with Mohamed Salah highlighting the excellent understanding between the two which could be a major bonus as Salah will be able to help Mohamed settle into the side.

This season Mostafa Mohamed has taken the Turkish league by storm. Since arriving at Galatasaray, Mostafa Mohamed has scored 6 goals in 8 games which is an outstanding record.

He has also been prolific in the Egyptian league in the past.

Excellent in the air, and magnificent on the ball, Mostafa Mohamed is a proper all-round striker. He can play with his back to play, but also with his front. He can hold the ball up, but he can also instigate attacks himself and surge forward with mazy runs.

Of course the big added bonus is that his arrival could also appease Mohamed Salah who will be happy to see a fellow compatriot at Anfield and who has been recently rumoured to be somewhat unhappy at the club.
