Every general must eventually retire. Life is short and the ravages of time take their toll on everyone. From a crumbling decade, a new era blooms. Liverpool are standing on the cusp of such a precipice. One which could herald a fresh start.

At the heart of the change will be the steady replacement of Roberto Firmino. The dazzling Brazilian has been the beating heart of Jurgen Klopp’s system and team ever since the German arrived on the shores of Merseyside.

However, his steam has run out. His engine has sputtered and his performances have turned from remarkable to lacklustre.

There is now the need for a new man to run the show at Anfield.

Liverpool need a new Roberto Firmino.

And the perfect candidate seems to be right in front of the club’s eyes. Flourishing in a place where some of the linchpins of Jurgen Klopp’s side like Naby Keita and Sadio Mane once made their tentative steps in professional football.

His name is Patson Daka.

According to the Salzburger Nachrichten, Liverpool are interested in the Zambian forward alongside with Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.

This season and last season Daka has been the undermined star of the show. Others have already earned moves to big clubs abroad like Erling Haaland or Dominik Szoboszlai. And Daka could soon follow suit.

His style of play is one that would compliment Jurgen Klopp’s heavy metal football well.

Patson Daka is a boisterous attacker. He has the energy and the pace to suit Klopp’s high pressing system and link up with the likes of Salah and Mane around him.

On top of that, the Zambian would be raring to go to move to Liverpool.

It is well thought of that Daka’s desire and dream is to play for the club. Confirmed in this piece by FTF.

Daka grew up idolising the hallowed Anfield turf. He has already netted against the Reds in pre-season, now it’s time for Klopp to make the Zambian’s dream come true and bring him to the club.

It could be the best move made by Klopp yet.

And one which will create another Anfield favourite.
