When it comes to Liverpool fans’ whish lists for the summer transfer window, Patson Daka might not rank too high on the list.
Names like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland certainly have a more alluring ring to them.
However, those options seem like intangible dreams rather than reality. Especially without a place in next year’s Champions League.

So on second thoughts, Patson Daka’s name is worth investigating.
After all, there is a good track-record between Red Bull Salzburg and Liverpool. Three of the Austrian club’s graduates are currently in Jurgen Klopp’s squad in Naby Keita, Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino. Meanwhile others include, Dayot Upamecano, Dominik Szoboszlai and Erling Haaland.
Liverpool and Patson Daka could be a match made in heaven.
That certainly puts Patson Daka’s name on a distinguished list.
On top of that his numbers over the past few seasons have been terrifying to say the least. 27 goals in 31 games this season is almost on par with Erling Haaland’s achievement in Red Bull colours.
Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp saw first hand just how devastating the Zambian international can be in pre-season last summer with Daka netting a brace in a 3-2 friendly match between the two sides.
A moment which according to his former youth coach Lee Kawanu speaking to First Time Finish was a ‘dream’ come true for the 22 year old.
Daka himself has admitted he is an ardent supporter of the Reds via Liverpool’s official website.
The Zambian has the pace and the energy to suit Jurgen Klopp’s heavy metal football.
His track-record, love for the club, and the fact that he would be available for a relatively cheap price according to the latest reports should be enough to convince you he could be the perfect number nine signing for the Reds.
