Any Liverpool fan who still hopes to sign Kingsley Coman can officially kiss those hopes goodbye. He is joining Sadio Mane at Al Nassr.
Liverpool has signed a fair few names this summer window. They've splashed the cash, but out of necessity. Key players have left the club, and Liverpool needed to be bold in the transfer market to offset those concerns.
Heading into the Premier League season this week, fans are mostly confident in the squad depth. However, there remains a feeling that at least one more attacking option wouldn't go amiss.
Earlier in the transfer window, there were talks of signing Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich. The whispers weren't intense, but they were there in the background. Now, Coman's future has been settled.
Kingsley Coman won't be signing for Liverpool
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Kingsley Coman is set to sign for Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr. Coman has said yes to the deal occurring, and now Al Nassr wishes to receive the green light from Bayern Munich. The deal can be completed soon.
In his own words, Romano said: "Kingsley Coman’s move to Al Nassr can be done soon as Saudi club waits for the final green light from Bayern. Coman already said yes."
So, Liverpool fans can kiss goodbye to the thought of signing Kingsley Coman. It'll hardly be heartbreaking news to hear, but at least fans are close to getting the closure they needed.
One chapter closed, and hopefully another chapter beginning for Liverpool. The belief is that Liverpool is open to signing more attacking options before the window closes.
This was revealed by reliable journalist Paul Joyce and recently, Arne Slot made a comment that solidified that belief for fans.
It's hard to argue that Liverpool is offensively ready to take on this season. They have some first team players, but outside of that, not much depth. Given how gruelling the Premier League season can be, Liverpool must anticipate the best, but prepare for the worst. That includes signing more players than they feel they need.
