Player ratings for Liverpool from their victory over Wolves in the FA Cup 5th round

It wasn't pretty at times, but Liverpool got the job done at Molineux, beating Wolves by three goals to one.

A moment of brilliance from Andy Robertson blew upon a game that had frustrated Liverpool until early in the second half.

Robertson's goal, when Liverpool were producing little, was the moment that eluded Liverpool, the missing piece from Tuesday night.

31-year-old Robertson hit arguably the best strike of his Liverpool career, scoring his 13th goal for the Reds and staking his claim for a starting berth.

Here is how all of the Liverpool players rated in the cup win.

Alisson- 7

The Brazilian didn't have much to do. He had a few imperfect moments dealing with deliveries into the box. There wasn't much he could do about Wolves' late consolation goal.

Andy Robertson- 9

Robertson was flawless defensively and brought a refreshing solidity to Liverpool's defending. His arrowed strike put Liverpool on course for the last eight.

At this stage of his career, we know Robertson can make mistakes defensively. He will want to stake his claim in the team, and he may just have an important part to play in the closing months of the season.

Virgil van Dijk - 7

A calming influence defensively. What is often forgotten is van Dijk's great relationship with Joe Gomez, and his longstanding relationship with Robertson. This shone through on Friday night.

Hopefully van Dijk's knock which left him hobbling, before being taken off for Ibrahima Konate, isn't too serious.

Joe Gomez- 8

Gomez had a really good game defensively, he was calm on and off the ball and showed every bit of his now extensive experience.

He took that shot in the first half, and you just hope that he can get that goal soon. It's going to be a moment to remember when he does.

Dominik Szoboszlai- 7

Not his most outstanding game, in an outstanding season for Szoboszlai.

He had some bright moments, and there seems to be at least a hint of Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement in Arne Slot's willingness to play him at right-back. Even when 'right-back' Jeremie Frimpong came on, he played on the right wing.

Ryan Gravenberch- 8

He looked calm and slick on the ball. Gravenberch definitely still has the exceptional ability that he showcased last season.

There were times when he wormed his way through the Wolves midfield and laid the ball on a plate to a teammate. He was immense.

Alexis Mac Allister- 7

At times he suffered from what he has suffered from at times this season. Looking a little lackadaisical and slow at getting to the ball.

Curtis Jones- 9

One of the unsung heroes of the season. Curtis Jones has over a number of years become a tidy and accomplished midfielder.

His run past the Wolves midfield and pinpoint goal capped a fantastic performance, in a competition in which he thrives.

Rio Ngumoha- 8

A breath of fresh air in the Liverpool team. His ability to simply run at the opposition full-back and get them on the back foot, immediately enables him to look more effective than Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah.

Wolves trapped him down cul-de-sacs a few times, and he lacks end-product. Ngumoha is a diamond in the rough though, still so young, and the only way is up.

Mo Salah- 7

An odd performance from Salah. The Egyptian had a woeful first half, offered no threat and seemed to lack commitment at times.

He came good in the second half, helping to set up Robertson's goal and providing the speedy succeeding blow, tapping home Liverpool's second.

Cody Gakpo- 6

Gakpo was anonymous for most of the match, slightly awkward playing in the middle of the front three.

The Dutchman is the type of player who, when not finding the scoresheet, begins to look ungainly and offers you little threat, as his deficiencies come into focus. It happened on Friday and has often reared its head in recent months.

Jeremie Frimpong- 6

Offered a sprinkling of fast running when he came on, and nearly got himself on the scoresheet, but the game was almost done by the time he entered the pitch.

Florian Wirtz- 6

Some much-needed minutes under the belt of Wirtz as he returned from injury. He will have an eye on ensuring he is in shape for the trip to Galatasaray next week.

Ibrahima Konate- 6

Was fairly solid when he came on, but didn't have a lot to do as Wolves chopped and changed their attack in a bid to conserve energy for the remnants of their relegation fight.

Trey Nyoni- 7

He looks like a good player and played a couple of nice fizzing balls. If he is to make it as a Liverpool first-teamer, you feel as though he needs to kick on soon after a few years around the first team.

Kieran Morrison- 6

He was keen when he came on. Morrison sliced over the bar late on when presented with a half-opportunity.
