PSG may have just inadvertently made Liverpool's Premier League season opener more winnable by signing one of Bournemouth's best players.

Before Liverpool takes on the Premier League season again, they have Community Shield business to attend to. The Reds come up against FA Cup winners Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium this weekend.

Then, the following week, Liverpool kickstarts their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth. It will be the first match of the Premier League season on Friday night, so all eyes will be on Liverpool.

Of course, Arne Slot will want to get off on winning ways to set the title race early on. Well, his life may have been made easier by PSG.

PSG has just weakened Bournemouth before Liverpool trip

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, PSG is still closing in on signing Illya Zabarnyi from Bournemouth. He first gave the report last week, claiming that the 'Here We Go' will be coming very soon, and today, he has published a cryptic update.

The update included two emojis alongside PSG colors: An hourglass timer, and a finishing flag. So, one can safely assume that Zabarnyi is close to being a PSG player.

Reading between the lines, then, Zabarnyi will not be available for Bournemouth in the Premier League season at Anfield Stadium.

Zabarnyi has been Bournemouth's primary starting center back over the last few seasons. So, he comes as a great loss to the Cherries. As it stands, they haven't signed a replacement, as their only two signings are at goalkeeper (Djorde Petrovic) and left-back (Adrien Truffert).

Bournemouth has made one defensive acquisition, but lost three key players in the defence. Dean Huijsen has already signed for Real Madrid and, obviously, Milos Kerkez has signed for Liverpool. With Zabarnyi on his way to PSG, Bournemouth's back-line could be depleted of options when they face Liverpool.

On the other end of the coin, Liverpool doesn't have the most depth in attack as it stands. Looking ahead to the Community Shield, Liverpool will probably go with a front three of Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Hugo Ekitike.

Before the season opens, Liverpool will want to add a few more attacking options to their depth chart. Everybody's thinking it, but Alexander Isak simply has to be their next signing.

Just imagine Isak against a depleted Bournemouth defense...
