Paris Saint Germain forward Julian Draxler has re-emerged as a potential summer transfer target for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

There is no doubt that the Liverpool attack is special. While Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah are having the best season’s of their careers Liverpool are not going to be complacent in the transfer market this summer.

That is why rumours of transfer for PSG forward Julian Draxler are re-emerging as the season races towards the finish. After PSG blew up the transfer market last year with record moves for Neymar and Kylian Mbappe there has been much speculation about the German’s future.

He arrived in January of 2017 expecting to be a first team player and essential to the future of the Paris club. The two mega deals in August 2017 made it clear to him that he is not regarded at the level he wants to be at.

His potential availability sparked a host of rumours last year. Many believe that Draxler would love to play for his countryman Jurgen Klopp in England. He see the German coach as someone who can steer his career in the right direction and maximize the potential of all his clear talent.

You may look at the current Liverpool front line and think it needs no improvement. However there is very little quality cover for the front three and, crucially to Klopp, little competition for places. Since Philippe Coutinho left you can write the names of Firmino, Salah and Sadio Mane in pen on every team sheet.

Mane in particular could do with a player challenging him for a place in the team. The Senegalese international has had a very good season but has certainly had periods of where form has dipped and goals have dried up.
