Liverpool duo Loris Karius and Dejan Lovren are back and providing the bants via Instagram.

Goalkeeper Karius has been building his portfolio of snaps on the social media site and is probably verging on being a bitter Insta model than shot-stopper, but Lovren seems happy to rain on his parade.

The Croatian defender did what any self-respecting bloke would do and tried to bring Karius down a peg or two with his latest comment.

It seems like the ‘keeper is making the most of the international break and uploaded a snap of himself topless, sitting by a swimming pool in the sun.

And Lovren, clearly and perfectly spotting the chance to poke fun at his teammate, told Karius he can stop sucking his gut in.

On the pitch, the former Bundesliga man’s performances have improved recently and manager Jurgen Klopp has rewarded the German by making him the team’s undisputed number one goalkeeper.

Simon Mignolet’s Liverpool career looks to be over as Karius has kept his Champions League role and taken over Mignolet’s Premier League duties.

With transfer rumours swirling about Klopp’s desire to bring in a new stopper in the next transfer window, it would appear as if there is no more space in the squad for the Belgian.

The Reds have kept three clean sheets in their last four games and have only conceded five in their last eight fixtures. Tottenham Hotspur (two), Manchester United (two) and West Ham (one) are the only sides to breach their defence since the 31st of January.

Unfortunately for Lovren, his time as Virgil van Dijk’s partner looks to be coming to an end. He was criticized for his role in both United’s goals and Joel Matip was subsequently picked to start alongside van Dijk against Watford.

His performance on the pitch may have dipped, but Lovren’s banter game is clearly strong and that’s something we should all appreciate.
