Liverpool: £61 million striker transfer target refuses to rule out Anfield move
By David Gate
Liverpool fans will be delighted to hear that one of the club’s top targets, a £61 million striker, has refused to rule out a move to Anfield this summer.
When chasing high-profile, expensive transfer targets any morsel of information is received with great anticipation. Liverpool fans will be very happy to hear that top transfer target Nabil Fekir from Lyon has refused to squash rumors of a move to Liverpool this summer.
Speaking before Lyon’s vital Ligue 1 game against Nice today, Fekir responded to questions about whether or not this will be his last appearance for the club. His response was very evasive:

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has made the French striker one of his top priorities for the transfer window ahead of the 2018/19 season. The forward can play in any of the front three positions and cover or replace Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Nabil Fekir can also drop into midfield as a ball carrying offensive threat. That versatility, his work ethic and his leadership capability – he is Lyon’s captain – are all attributes that Klopp loves to have in abundance.
There have been numerous reports that Liverpool have already agreed a fee with his club and they are working on personal terms. That pace should increase once both Lyon and Liverpool finish their respective seasons.
There is some confusion about a rumored meeting between Nabil Fekir and Klopp earlier in the season. The player’s father has been quick to play suggestions that the two men have met already. There is also the possibility that Lyon will include a move for the forwards’s brother; Yassin Fekir.

This transfer has many similarities to last year’s pursuit of Salah. The club have ascertained their top attacking target; moved early before the season is over; aggressive with price negotiation; and reports emanating from the country of the player rather than through local Liverpool media.
