Liverpool are happy to stand aside and let Spurs win the race for overrated English midfielder Jack Grealish. The Reds have better targets to pursue.
Liverpool Football Club will not be battling with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer. Reports from scumbag rag The S*n (don’t click on the link – we have to have it there for copyright) say the Reds are entering the race. But, as with everything reported from that cess hole, it is nonsense.
The 22-year-old midfielder has become one of the most sort after players in the Championship after a decent season with Aston Villa. His boyhood club are ready to cash in on him after missing out a return to the Premier League when they lost in the playoffs last month.

I can struggle to think of a non-Manchester United/Everton affiliated player I’d like at the club less. He is like if Jack Wilshere and Mark Noble had a love child, consummated on the eve of the Brexit vote. If he appeared on Love Island you wouldn’t blink.
There are no credible reports of Liverpool’s interest and the Reds seem to have other priorities. Top of the list is a new center back. Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles is the number one target with Burnley’s James Tarkowski as the alternative.
The club would also like to add a new goalkeeper – but acquiring a clear upgrade like Alisson Becker will be expensive and complicated.
It is more important that Liverpool find squad depth for the attacking positions before they add more cover or ‘potential’ like Grealish to the midfield. The Irish/English international flip-flopper only manager 3 goals in 31 appearances for Villa this season.

If the Reds are to bolster the midfield it will be with attacking minded players who are productive going forwards. Hence the potential moves for Nabil Fekir and Xherdan Shaqiri.
