Liverpool embarked on their 2018 pre-season tour earlier this week. What greeted them upon arrival was a familiar Scouse passion in Charlotte, NC.

The staff and players have been extremely open and friendly to all fans during their time on American soil.

This is undoubtedly a conscious branding effort, but has been made incredibly easy to achieve thanks to the atmosphere created by US Liverpool fans.

There have been several moments that are great to see, including the open training session and players jumping the advertising boards to spend time with supporters.

However, what stands out most and will live long in the memory is the fans party at a local event on Saturday evening.

During the Champions League run last season, Reds supporters were intoxicated with the belief the Liverpool could bring number six home. Some memorable nights were created with the crowd and one particular song – Allez, Allez, Allez.

Off the pitch, Jamie Webster, an Anfield favorite, produced some epic performances of his own with Liverpool fans at ABossNight. The song became synonymous with the Champions League, but it wasn’t just Merseyside that was reveling.

US fans can be just as passionate as those located in the north west of England. In fact, a large number of fans abroad are actually originally from Liverpool, or have family ties to the area.

What happened on a summers night in Charlotte was a brilliant outpouring of joy and passion for the Football Club. US fans don’t get to enjoy being close to their heroes all too often, but when given the chance, they proved they are just as connected to the club.

Check out Peter Moore’s (yes, the Liverpool CEO!) video of the passion and enjoyment last night:

LFC is truly global, and the club’s efforts with recent tours have been fantastic. It may be the build up to a somewhat meaningless friendly, but that doesn’t matter. When Liverpool are in town, it’s special. To all US and worldwide Liverpool fans, Allez, Allez, Allez!! YNWA.
