U23 trialist revealed to be international goalkeeper
A trialist for Liverpool U23s has been revealed to be international goalkeeper Kai McKenzie-Lyle.
Jack Lusby, who is the assistant editor of This Is Anfield, reported that McKenzie-Lyle recently played for the youth side in Hungary.
Incredibly, the 20-year-old is a full international with Guyana and even scored on international debut against Surinam.
McKenzie-Lyle, who stands at an imposing 6’7″, made his first ever senior appearance at just 17-years-old for Barnet. However, success has been hard to come by and the stopper hasn’t featured since.

It’s encouraging to see the club continuing to try and hoover up the best young talent. McKenzie-Lyle clearly has the frame to be a good stopper, but just one football league appearance in his whole life suggests that he doesn’t have the skill.
Liverpool have a strong production line of talent and can expect the likes of Rhian Brewster and Curtis Jones to put pressure on senior players as they battle for first team spaces. Brewster is highly regarded and recently signed a professional contract, much to the relief of everyone at the club.
In other transfer news, Serbian international Marko Grujic is wanted by Crystal Palace. The Daily Mail wrote that Palace could beat Cardiff City to the signature of Grujic, who is unlikely to see first team action at Liverpool.
The Eagles want the 22-year-old on loan, even if City are still the favorites to land the midfielder. Grujic has previously had a spell in Wales, and impressed during his 14 league appearances with the Bluebirds.
Meanwhile, Klopp has handed Daniel Sturridge another lifeline as the former England international seeks to rebuild his Reds career. The official club website has carried some very positive comments from the manager about Sturridge, who has had an excellent pre-season.

Klopp remarked that the forward could be a decisive player for the team, and praised his skill on the ball. A return to the Sturridge of old would be a huge boost to Liverpool, and would reveal some of the workload off Roberto Firmino.
