Liverpool owner John Henry must be ecstatic with transfer rumors lingering around 19 year-old midfielder Christian Pulisic.

Whisper it; Christian Pulisic could be coming to Liverpool. According to The Mirror,

"“The Reds are long-term admirers of the Borussia Dortmund star but have not followed up their interest. Dortmund are reluctant to sell but could be forced into letting him go next summer, when Pulisic would have just a year remaining on his contract. The Reds agreed to sign Naby Keita a year ago, with the midfielder officially moving to Anfield earlier this summer. And German insider Raphael Honigstein believes Liverpool may well try to lure Dortmund into a deal for Pulisic, which would go through in a year’s time”."

This would be a huge transaction for Liverpool Football Club. Last week, we all witnessed Pulisic dump in two goals on our defense in a friendly vs Dortmund in Charlotte. No matter how many goals he has scored in the Bundesliga, the kid has some serious talent. Being only 19 years old gives him years and years left to grow.

What would be a better place to grow and learn from than at Liverpool? Learning from Henderson, Keita, Mane, and Salah, that would be some pretty valuable instruction for the lad. He will not have to come in and be a superstar right away either.

The $60 million valuation is a high one, but it is more of an investment than just a fee. Even on a five-year deal, he will only be 25 at the end of it, which is usually the start of a players prime. He could be a really valuable piece off of our bench for a while and eventually see good playing time in our squad.

Not to mention the American actually prefers a move to Liverpool over the like of Chelsea. Most likely due to his admiration of former coach Jurgen Klopp, who was at Dortmund when Pulisic was still a youth player.

The talent potential alone should really entice John Henry to pull the trigger and make this deal happen. However, there is much more than his talent that would make this deal a logical move.

As most know, John Henry is also the owner of the historic Boston Red Sox. Their presence in America is tremendous, as one of the bigger sports brands in the States. It is clear that Henry is also trying to expand Liverpool’s brand in the US, after doing multiple tours across the pond, in recent years.

Liverpool is already a massive football club, with fans all over the world, especially the United States already. However, adding the American “wonder-boy” would take it to a new level. It would give Christian Pulisic super-fans an English team to root for, as well as just any American soccer fan. The young lad from the States does not get the exposure he really needs to gain popularity during the year in the Bundesliga.

Therefore, if he played for Liverpool, his American fan base could watch him regularly and the brand of Liverpool would explode. Anytime his name is mentioned in an article, Liverpool could be linked to it, and American fans would be much more likely to read and follow it. This move could easily take us to the levels of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the United States.

When John Henry analyzes this deal in his office, he should see that it is the perfect move for both sides. It really does check all the boxes; his talent, age, potential, and marketing power is all worth the $60 million price tag. Liverpool fans want it done, so let’s make it happen John.
