Liverpool Football Club are moving swiftly to complete two new deals for England duo Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the coming months.
The new contracts keep coming. After a summer that consisted of new deals for Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah the club recently signed Jordan Henderson to an extension. Now they are looking to pen international duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez to pay rises.
The two players have been receiving rave reviews in recent weeks after a year of improvement under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. In the summer of 2017 neither were considered first team players but the injury to Nathaniel Clyne allowed them both opportunities at right back.

Initially Gomez was the more trusted of the pair until injury and Alexander-Arnold’s development allowed the younger of two to take the reins in the final games of the season.
This year has begun with both as fixtures in the side. Gomez has been sensational at center back next to Virgil van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold is clearly ahead of Clyne in the pecking order.
Joe Gomez started for England last week in defense against Spain; replacing Kyle Walker in Gareth Southgate’s line up. Alexander-Arnold was on the bench after making the trip to the World Cup in Russia during the summer.
The report on the new deals states that Alexander-Arnold will get an extension and make over £60k-a-week in salary. Gomez is set to break the £50k-a-week barrier also.
When these deals are complete Liverpool fans will be eager to see Sadio Mane as the next name signed on for a big extension. There have been rumors all summer that the Senegalese forward is getting a new deal but nothing has progressed in recent weeks.
There will be keen eyes on Dejan Lovren when he returns from injury. The Croatian center back was the first team starter at the end of last season but now most expect for him to be a backup or rotation for Gomez.
