Liverpool vs Wolves: Despair for fans as key attacker ruled out
Fans have been left in despair ahead of Liverpool vs Wolves as a key man has been ruled out through injury.
The club have confirmed that attacker Diogo Jota will miss the Premier League game on Friday night after picking up an injury.
22-year-old Jota has scored twice and assisted once in 16 league appearances this season as the Portuguese youngster has become a key part of the Wolves outfit.
After joining the Midlands club from Porto in 2017/2018, Jota hit 17 goals and registered five assists as he helped fire the club to promotion. It’s been trickier going for the forward this season, but his importance to the team remains the same.

And that’s why Wolves fans have reacted with despair to the news that their man will miss the Liverpool clash on Friday night.
The Reds are not without their own injury problems as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all absent from the squad.
That leaves Jurgen Klopp with few options, especially at right back. He could continue with Nathaniel Clyne, or draft James Milner into that unfamiliar position.
Highly rated 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever has been called up the senior squad – a move that is surely designed to offer some cover as a last resort should any more defenders come a cropper.
One thing is for sure: Liverpool can’t afford Dejan Lovren or Virgil van Dijk to pick up a niggle leading into Christmas and New Year. If that happens the squad will be seriously short at the back and will have to consider drastic matters.
Wolves fans have called for Ivan Cavaleiro to start in the place of injured Jota. Cavaleiro is another Portuguese import (surprise surprise) and has scored three goals in three starts this season.
The 25-year-old is in this third campaign at Molineaux and is yet to hit double figures for goals, despite starting 31 Championship games during 2017/2018.
