The January transfer window for the Premier League is about to close and we have all the details plus what Liverpool fans should look out for.

This has been a quiet transfer window for both Liverpool Football Club and their fans. In almost every other Premier League season there has been a desperate clamor to add players to improve a somewhat disappointing midseason or bolster a thin squad.

The Premier League transfer window will shut at 11pm GMT (6pm ET) on Thursday January 31st 2019. There may yet be some action for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

More from Rush The Kop

This year the Reds are in the strongest league position they’ve ever been; four points clear at the top of the table with only one defeat.

While the squad is deeper and stronger than any previous season there is concern about its ability to last the distance. Is there enough cover for the forwards? Can the bodies of Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana hold up for the remainder of the season?

Sitting in the best position at this point of the season I’d love to see the club add a player (or two) before the window closes on Thursday, even if it is just on loan.

I doubt I will get my wish as the club seem content to press on with what they have for the title push and Champions League attempt. The hype around Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s return is a clear indicator of a lack of incoming transfer in the next two days.

However there are a couple of things to watch for. A couple of players could leave before the 11pm deadline. Ben Woodburn is likely to become the fifth player to leave in the window if his loan  move to Hull City goes through.

If a club approaches Anfield and slaps £18 million+ on the table for Divock Origi then we would probably see the departure of the derby day hero.

While I have no expectations of a player arriving in January there remains the possibility the club could seal a deal for the summer. Out-of-contract players like Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey are still looking to secure their futures and Liverpool retain interest.
