This is how Man City will help Liverpool inflate summer transfer budget
By David Gate
Liverpool could get a summer transfer boost from Premier League rivals Man City if these two highly rumored transfers end up happening.
Liverpool are in a fierce battle with Man City to win the Premier League but there is one way which their rivals may help increase the transfer pot this summer. The key lies with Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri and a potential replacement from Anfield.
While Man City do not want to give the Reds anything after they have maintained a record pace with them this season, their summer transfer plans may cause a chain that fills the Anfield coffers.

City are the frontrunners to sign Rodri from Atletico. The 22-year-old midfielder has a £60.6 million release fee clause and the La Liga side will demand every penny of it to let go of their star talent.
Atletico are resigned to losing him and so are making plans to sign a replacement. Top of their list is Liverpool’s on-loan player Marko Grujic.
The Serbian midfielder has been outstanding for Hertha Berlin this season in the Bundesliga. Jurgen Klopp is no hurry to sell the young star who he brought to the club as his first signing in January 2016.
However if Atletico are willing to drop £36 million, as is being reported, then the club will happy cash in on a player who will struggle to get into the match day squad next season.
The Reds have Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner, Fabinho and Naby Keita as rotating options for the three midfield spots. Add to that the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and it is unlikely Grujic would force his way into contention to even make the bench most weeks.
Man City will indirectly help Liverpool add a chunk of cash to the budget that they will likely spend on a forward. Perhaps making the Reds able to outbid city for Joao Felix. That would be delicious.
