Liverpool transfer target Hakim Ziyech is set to move this summer after Ajax confirmed their star attacker will be sold in the transfer window.

While Liverpool are preparing for a Champions League final against Spurs in two weeks the transfer market will not rest. It has been confirmed that transfer target Hakim Ziyech will leave Ajax this summer.

The Moroccan attacker has been the creative heart of Ajax’s wonderful season where they won the league and came within 30 seconds of facing Liverpool in the European Cup final.

He posted up 19 goals and 16 assists this season drawing the attention of every big club in Europe. Liverpool have long been linked with a move for the forward.

Ajax Sporting Director Marc Overmars has revealed that Ziyech will leave this summer as the Eredivisie side cash in on their star players.

The Reds will face a strong fight for his signing if they have genuine interest. Bayern Munich have become hot favorites for his signing at 13/8 odds. They have made him the priority after their top target Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered a long-term injury last month.

Roma and Juventus are next in line with the Serie A pair convinced he would thrive in the Italian league. Liverpool and Dortmund are behind those three clubs with odds around 11/1 to pick up his signature.

Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to sign more than one attacking player this summer and they are likely to go for a player who is more flexible. Ziyech has been excellent as part of Ajax’s fluid attacking system but has been predominantly on the right side.

Klopp is likely to want a play who can cover both wings and play centrally as either cover for Roberto Firmino or in a number 10 attacker in the hole. Ziyech has the talent but doesn’t have the experience.

At 26-years-old and likely to cost over £50 million it seems improbable that Liverpool will prioritize the attacker as a huge addition.
