Liverpool to sign another relegated player with £10 million transfer

Liverpool are to keep up their trend of signing relegated players under Jurgen Klopp with a move for Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge say reports.
Jurgen Klopp loves a bargain. Especially from a club that has just been relegated from the Premier League. This year it looks as if Liverpool will make a transfer move for Cardiff City shot stopper Neil Etheridge this summer.
Wales Online are reporting that Liverpool will join the race to sign the Philippines goalkeeper after the 29-year-old had a decent season in his first year in the Premier League.

The Reds are scouting for an experienced reserve goalkeeper to play behind Alisson Becker next year. Former Liverpool number one Simon Mignolet has had that role since the Brazilian arrived but he is expected to be sold this summer as he looks for first team football.
The club highly rate youngster Caoimhin Kelleher who was part of the Champions League final winning squad as the third keeper. However they want someone experienced as the primary backup at such a crucial position. It is possible that Kelleher could even be loaned out next season to aid his development.
Aston Villa would love Etheridge to be their first choice goalie and have already had an offer £8 million knocked back by the Bluebirds. Liverpool would probably have to bid near £10 million for him but I would expect a deal to be lined up for Mignolet before the Reds act.
In every summer under Klopp the club have signed a player who was relegated the previous season from the top division. In 2016 that player was Gini Wijnaldum who was picked up from Newcastle. Then in 2017 they signed Andrew Robertson from Hull City before getting Xherdan Shaqiri in 2018 from Stoke City.
Those transfers have worked out rather well – especially Wijnaldum and Robertson – and Klopp looks likely to keep that trend going in 2019.
