Liverpool fans have run to the aid of England cricketer Ben Stokes as he slates The S*n for their sensationalization of his family tragedy.
Liverpool fans are behind England cricket star Ben Stokes as he issues a statement slamming the The S*n national tabloid today.
The newspaper published a front page story sensationalizing a family tragedy from 31-years-ago on the back of Stokes prominent summer with England during The Ashes.

He became a national hero by scoring 135 not out to win the third test for England from a seemingly impossible situation, being labelled as the greatest innings from an English batsman of all time.
The new-found fame has led The S*n to delve deep into his past and drag up an incident from his early childhood to sell a few papers and get a few clicks. Stokes says in his statement:
“It is hard to find words that adequately describe such low and despicable behavior, disguised as journalism. I cannot conceive of anything more immoral, heartless or contemptuous to the feelings and circumstances of my family.”
Liverpool fans know all about the total absence of morality at the paper from the headlines around the Hillsborough Disaster in 1989. There has long been a city-wide boycott of the paper. Reds have come out in force on social media today to back Stokes and promote the campaign to veto the rag.
