Jurgen Klopp equals Rafa Benitez record with award
By David Gate
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has equalled an achievement last set by Rafa Benitez after picking up his second consecutive Manager-of-the-Month award.
Jurgen Klopp is the best manager in the Premier League. At least he has been this season as he picks up the league Manager-of-the-Month award for the second consecutive month; the LFC first manager to do that since Rafa Benitez.
The Reds have made a perfect start to the Premier League season, winning all eight of their fixtures to create an eight point lead over current champions Man City; their nearest challenger and biggest rivals for the title.

Rafa Benitez managed to do the same back in November and December 2005; just a few months after he led the side to Champions League victory in Istanbul, a feat that Klopp achieved this year by beating Spurs 2-0 in Madrid.
This is the fifth time Klopp has picked up the award since moving to Anfield in 2015. Benitez feels that this team is actually better than the one he made European Champions. He’s not wrong.
Winning two in a row is not an exceptional achievement but it speaks to how Liverpool have not had a consistently excellent side over the last 14 years.
Finding out no Reds manager has achieved this since 2005 is not really surprising, except the run of 10 wins that Brendan Rodgers had at the beginning of 2014 didn’t lead to two Manager-of-the-Month awards.
All eyes will be on Liverpool’s next game as they look to continue the perfect start to the season. They will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United next weekend.
Despite United struggling in the league with just nine points for their worst start to the season, they will surely be ready and motivated to stop Klopp taking three points. A feat they managed at home last season that helped deny Liverpool the title.
