One Liverpool fan has cracked the code on a mystery that has been plaguing the fanbase; why does Divock Origi not celebrate his goals?

It’s a mystery that has been puzzling Liverpool fans for a year now: why does Divock Origi not really celebrate his match winning/season altering goals? Well, one fan has found an image that explains everything.

The issue was raised again last week as Origi scored two goals against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup including a 94th minute equalizer that took the game to penalties.

His nonchalant celebration was equal to his passive efforts after his crucial late goals against Barcelona and Spurs in the Champions League winning run and his Merseyside derby 96th minute winner last season.

But has the code now been cracked? Ben Webb posted a photo on his twitter feed last week of Origi being embraced by the crowd after a goal and with one fan less than an inch away from kissing him, right on the lips. A picture to express how much the fans love the Belgian hero.

However, fellow twitter user @TeeJay2304 made the link between this uncomfortable invasion of private space and why Origi doesn’t celebrate; he simply doesn’t want to be snogged by Scousers!

This time next week we will have a clearer picture of the Premier League title race as Man City come to Anfield at the weekend. Hopefully we won’t need a last-minute winner from Divock Origi to take three points, but if we do we know to expect nothing more than a slight smile and a steady jog!
