Liverpool news: Reds want Timo Werner transfer amid Salah injury worry
By David Gate
The latest Liverpool news says the Reds are heightening their transfer interest in Timo Werner amongst increasing concern about Mohamed Salah’s injury.
It is the international break; the dead zone for Liverpool news. However, two stories are circulating that are causing excitement and worry in the fanbase respectively: a potential transfer move for Timo Werner and fresh doubt about when Mohamed Salah will return from injury.
The Egyptian picked up an ankle injury against Leicester City last month that was aggravated in the 3-1 demolition of Man City on Sunday.

Despite the injury flaring up, Salah departed to join Egypt on international duty. However, the assessment from their medical staff was that he would be unable to feature in their fixtures.
Now Sky Sports News are stoking worries about the length of his recovery claiming “Mohamed Salah’s return date for Liverpool remains unclear with the forward continuing to have treatment on his ankle injury”.
The rumors on social media is that it will be a 4-5 week absence and may not feature before the World Club Cup in the December fixture pile up.
While there has been no official word from the club, there has immediately been a revival of the rumor that the club will make a move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in the next transfer window.
Bleacher Report (via Daily Express) are saying that if Werner accepts he won’t be first choice on arrival at Anfield then the Reds will make the move for him when the transfer window opens.
The goalscorer has been in lightning form this season with 11 goals in 11 Bundesliga appearances. He would offer a very different option for Jurgen Klopp than the industry and creativity of Roberto Firmino.
The Reds have been reasonably fortunate to not be without Salah, Firmino or Sadio Mane for any extended period over the last two years. That won’t continue forever.
A move for Werner now could be just in time to keep Liverpool’s title push and defense of Champions League trophy on track.
