Liverpool want deal that’ll save them a fortune over the next few years
Liverpool want to do a deal that’ll save them a fortune over the next few years as they plan for the future.
Football Insider have reported that Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards want to secure teenage right-back sensation Neco Williams to a bumper new deal as they set plans in motion for domination in that position.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has needed a back-up that can come into the side and attack like him for a while, and Liverpool must have been sniffing around a few players in Europe in order to buy someone to do that job.
But now they have a ready made replacement coming through the Academy – a ready made replacement that could save the club millions in transfer fees and wages.

Neco Williams has impressed during his Carabao Cup and FA Cup appearances and deserves a chance to feature in the Premier League and some point this season. If Liverpool confirm their title before the end of the campaign, we can expect to see some rotation as Klopp will look to keep the big players fresh for the Champions League.
His deal runs until 2021, but Football Insider reckons the Welshman could be in line for an upgrade already before he turns 19 in April. Joe Gomez and James Milner can feature in his position, while Ki-Jana Hoever did it against Wolves last season, but Liverpool need an out-and-out right-back to slot in.
Alongside the financial benefits, there is nothing better than watching a procession of Academy graduates making the first team and doing well. Curtis Jones is riding a similar feelgood wave, and could also help the club pocket a healthy chunk of change.
With plenty of the season left to go, this is a story that could evolve quickly and start to bare fruit before the year is out.
