Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that his team needs a finisher in the side to make sure the chances they create don’t go to waste.

The gaffer was speaking after the Reds 2-1 win against Bournemouth on Saturday, which meant this side only needs six more points to claim their first Premier League title.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah hit the back of the net as Callum Wilson opened the scoring for the Cherries – who were without Harry Wilson for the clash.

Klopp recoginized the ability of Salah, and mentioned that the team need players of his excellent finishing ability to make sure the Reds chances don’t go to waste.

"He said: “We need the boys, because with all the good stuff you can do on the pitch, in the end you need somebody to finish it off.”"

It was Salah’s 100 league appearance and his 70th goal – which is an incredible record that puts him in the top echelon of scorers in the Premier League’s history.

Roberto Firmino could do with taking some lessens from his strike partners, and the Brazilian was guilty of failing to convert one excellent chance and one of medium difficulty.

Firmino is yet to score at Anfield this season and has only scored eight top flight goals. This is down on his usual production of 12 for 2018/2019 and a career best of 15 the campaign before.

Liverpool do need more finishers, and Bobby shouldn’t bank on his position in the side remaining secure for the next few years. At the very least, Klopp should think about switching formation to accommodate someone else – such as Timo Werner.

With Werner in the line up along Mane and Salah, Liverpool would be blessed with three finishers in the line up. Imagine the damage the side could do then, especially with Firmino dropping deep and pulling the strings.
