Liverpool could be braced for a huge bid.

For years now Liverpool have perpetually fought off the barrage of relentless pursuits from the two Spanish giants in Real Madrid and Barcelona. The clubs have notoriously vied for the Reds biggest players over the last few summer windows.

However a lot has changed at Anfield since losing players like Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez and Xabi Alonso. In those times selling the club’s best players seemed like a norm. However, now the power rests in Liverpool’s hands.

Real Madrid and Barcelona no longer sit at the pinnacle of world football. The club’s have endured a miserable plight. They are both seemingly in transition periods and their pulling power is no longer as alluring as it was before.

Even the La Liga title doesn’t seem a certainty for the two club’s in the current moment.

Now it is up to the Reds whether they want to sell their players to the Spanish clubs.

And in Roberto Firmino the club could face a bit of a conundrum.

According to Spanish outlet Todofichajes via TeamTalk, Real Madrid are looking to make a hefty move for the Reds Brazilian star.

Despite scoring at the weekend, Roberto Firmino has been somewhat out of form. Even though his off the ball contributions are rarely considered by those who criticise him.

Roberto Firmino is an integral part of the club’s system and when he is out of the side, the Reds have struggled.

However, with the recent additions of Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino the club are no longer as reliant on the Brazilian as they were before.

And of course there are huge speculations about a spectacular move for Kylian Mbappe next summer which would probably herald the demise of Roberto Firmino’s role as the false number nine in Jurgen Klopp’s system.

Having recently turned 29 years of age, Roberto Firmino is nearing the end of his prime years and his imminent decline. Perhaps next summer would be the perfect time to let the Brazilian go. With Real Madrid lurking and willing to pay a big sum, and the club having the best opportunity to sign Kylian Mbappe it seems like the stars have all aligned.

Do you think Liverpool should let Roberto Firmino go?
