A pundit wants a massive Liverpool reaction.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have been good at responding to adversity. The German refuses to let one defeat become two or become three and we can see that with this squad.

Even after we got dismantled 7-2 by Aston Villa, then lost Alisson, then lost Virgil van Dijk, then lost Fabinho and Joel Matip and Thiago, Liverpool kept on marching.

Form picked up, even if it was a little scratchy, and there’s been no defeats since that horrible performance against Villa. It culminated with a beautiful 5-0 win over Atalanta and a useful draw against Man City.

But bad things keep on happening to this team, and one pundit has demanded some instant acton from Liverpool. Instant transfer window action.

Everyone knows that transfer window action is the best type of action, and that’s what Paul Robinson has called for – says Football Insider.

"“It’s an area (defence) that Jurgen is going to have to address in the window, especially at centre-half. It cannot drag out. It has to be done on the 1 January.“It is a huge blow having Trent out.”"

Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up a calf injury in that City draw and will be out for four weeks, said the Daily Mail, which leaves Klopp in a little bit of a pickle.

He’s got Neco Williams on the bench and the teenager has been used a little bit this season, but doesn’t appear to be too trusted by Klopp. He’s certainly inexperienced, and asking him to play the next five games is a big ask.

That’s what Robinson is afraid of, and wants Liverpool to sign a player to take over from Williams as Alexander-Arnold’s designated reserve.

Finding someone like that is difficult. Who wants to move to another club when they know they’ll hardly play, and how much should the Reds spend on someone who’ll hardly play?

Kostas Tsimikas was brought across from Greece to act as Andy Robertson’s reserve, but there’s no guarantees that we’ll be able to find one of those for the right-side of defence.

Joe Gomez could play there, as could James Milner, but none of those are ideal candidates. Maybe Klopp will turn to the market, after all.

What do you think? Is Williams good enough to support the team while Alexander-Arnold is injured, or should Klopp buy someone in January?
