A massive superstar is keen on a Liverpool move.

According to reports from Paisley Gates, Duncan Castle, who writes for The Times and The Daily Record, was speaking to the Transfer Window Podcast about what moves the Reds might make next.

While we all know that Liverpool have suffered a few injury problems recently, but this deal wouldn’t be to solve one of those issues.

Instead, the Reds would be looking to improve somewhere they’re already strong – said Castles.

Sporting director Michael Edwards has already ensured that Klopp won’t be short up-front as he signed Diogo Jota from Wolves in the summer.

Jota has done really well since he arrived on Merseyside. With five league goals in nine games, as well as four in six Champions League appearances, the Portugal international has hit the ground running.

He’s allowed Klopp to mix up his forward options, but there could be even more reinforcements on the way in the form of Kylian Mbappe.

That’s who Castles was talking about when he mentioned the superstar’s potential destination after Paris Saint Germain. The forward has two years left on his current contract, and there’s been plenty of discussion about his next destination.

More from Rush The Kop

"Castles said: “The clubs he (Mbappe) is particularly interested in moving to, Real Madrid, Barcelona, who both have financial issues, Liverpool, and also he’s told friends that he likes Manchester United.”“Liverpool we know how their finances are at present, we know the efforts FSG have made to improve their finances by laying off and using government schemes.”"

Mbappe has surely outgrown PSG, and has cast admiring glances towards Liverpool and the project Klopp is building on Anfield.

Liverpool would definitely have to fight with a few other sides for his signature. Real Madrid will always be sniffing around the best talent in the world, but might not have the financial clout to do a deal.

Manchester United have seen their standards slip on the pitch but in the boardroom, they’re still elite, and would surely want to be included in the conversation for Mbappe.

With the Reds interested, they’ll always have a chance thanks to the passionate fans, excellent record and empire-building manager.
