Jurgen Klopp gives Liverpool the gift of Christmas dominance
Liverpool deserve to enjoy their Christmas holiday.
A healthy hearty round of cheers and celebration to our lads in Red! Tip of the cap, and hoist a pint or two in their honor!
With their resounding shellacking of Palace at Selhurst Park on the weekend, still sending shockwaves and grumblings across the land, Liverpool are now table-toppers at Christmas. Let that sink in.
Six points in the clear, at the top of the heap after the most surreal and bizarre autumn campaign of football in Premier League history – if not of all time. None of us has seen anything quite like this before. We ship seven at Villa, and take seven at Palace, inexplicably.
And Thiago has played a full 90 and a half. Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez have gone down with long-term injuries. And at least a dozen other Reds have had everything from minor knocks to bouts with positive COVID test results and missed time on the pitch. Allison out twice.
But it seems the Reds are coming around in the injury lottery turn-style. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made his long-awaited return from a knee injury over summer. Thiago is expected at the new year or thereabouts. James Milner is slated for a return, and Xherdan Shaqiri, Kostas Tsimikas are on the mend, also in the mix for the January-February campaign.
For three years running Jurgen Klopp has had his club top of the tree on the holiday. One reason he is getting the credit deserved being named manager of the year, two years running, all due respect to Hansi Flick and his accomplishment with Bayern.
But Klopp is special, and his five year stretch at Liverpool is virtually unrivalled. At least for 40 years. The days and dreams of Paisley, the last time Liverpool had this sort of success. The gaffer is an enigma in the world of footy managers today.

Simply the best in the world he is, and with his staff and the club management, Liverpool are as healthy, successful, and polluted with a phenomenal collection of world-class, talent-laden, qualify wealthy lads. They prove again and again why they are champions and will continue to push the curve in challenging for more titles.
The Reds, inexplicably, are in the driver’s seat on their season, first in the Premier League and in the knockouts of Champions League. Quite a respectable showing from the lads for the autumn campaign, all things considered. After all, without the officiated blunders in at least two draws and these Reds would be ahead by 10 points at this juncture. Another incredible exclamation point on this season thus far.
So enjoy the holidays Reds!! Make merry and share the joy along the Mersey, Liverpool are shining red with pride…again!!
Come the weekend, we go again with West Brom at Anfield. Up these mighty Reds
