Jurgen Klopp is not messing about. The German’s upheaval against the Liverpool board has been greeted by the Reds ominous lack of activity in the transfer market. Although things appear somewhat brighter than before with Joel Matip’s supposed return, the Cameroonian centre-back’s fitness is fragile.
The Reds remain just one injury away from another crisis and that will leave fans with nail-biting moments from now until the end of the season.
However, January might not be a complete failure for Klopp and his team on the transfer front.

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are in a transfer battle.
And they are in a purportedly fierce battle for another young star.
This one is a defender. However, the club’s arch rivals, Everton, stand in the way of Liverpool’s pursuit.
According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are fighting Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton for the signature of 18 year old centre-back Kyron Gordon.
Gordon is currently on the books at Sheffield United and is believed to be extremely highly rated.
With both teams looking to pounce on his talent, it promises to be an intriguing transfer battle.
Carlo Ancelotti has done well to raise the stock of Everton, with the Reds’ ‘noisy neighbours’ now in direct competition for the top four against Jurgen Klopp’s very own team.
And it seems like they will be competing on the transfer front too.
Everton’s rise is a welcome change on Merseyside and will only intensify the rivalry between the two teams.
Of course it is bitter viewing for Reds supporters and Klopp’s men will be eager to beat his rivals both on the field and off it in the transfer market.
Kyron Gordon could be an astute addition. Some will see him as a potential saviour, but at 18 years of age with no Premier League appearance under his belt that’s an impossible task. The youngster will probably slot into the club’s U23 set-up first.
The Reds’ already have some exciting centre-back options in that U23 team such as Billy Koumetio, Sepp van den Berg and Rhys Williams so it will be interesting to see where Kyron Gordon fits in.
Would you be excited by the arrival of Kyron Gordon?
